Raliben (Salem, OR United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Georges St. Pierre Rushfit: Strength & Endurance Workout (DVD) I took a chance on this exercise dvd series and ordered it direct from the manufacturer's website last December. I'm glad I did as these are the best fitness dvds that I own. The entire series spans six discs, but I'll just be reviewing the "Strength & Endurance Workout" here. The dvd is well produced and offers a balanced, high intensity, total body workout. The trainer Erik Owings does a great job of demonstrating the proper form for each exercise and makes sure everyone follows it. Georges is upbeat, encouraging and really attacks the workout. A timer at the bottom keeps track of which exercise is being performed and tracks the time remaining for each round and the entire workout. All of the exercises are performed at a demanding, fast pace. If you keep pace with everybody you should be thoroughly sweaty and exhausted by the end. The workout has a wide variety of exercises which I go into detail below. Before I do, I want to list any potential... Dont get me wrong, it's for men and women, but a lil more biased towards men. * The workout is challenging. So challenging that you can see George struggling through it. It's kinda cool because unlike most videos where the star of the video is breazing through the exercises, George doesn't have these moves down, and as he admits profusely. * George says that this kind of training is his weak area so he's pushing with you. This video should have been named inside GSP's conditioning class, because the Trainer Eric Owings is really pushing George. * It helped me to realise that I am mildly Sado Masochistic, any self realization is a personal pro for me sorry if it's TMI. I say Sadist, because I enjoy seeing George suffer, The french accent and the clear pain and discomfort is "great". Masochistic because I am... Read more 28 of 29 people found the following review helpful I purchased the entire series and they are all terrific!, By This review is from: Georges St. Pierre Rushfit: Strength & Endurance Workout (DVD) Like the first reviewer I found the entire series on the net and purchased it. They are all uniformly first class and look great on a widescreen monitor/television as they are 16x9 aspect ratio. Rather than repeat everything the first reviewer wrote in his near perfect recap I'll add this bit. Each DVD (I assume they will all be offered for individual sale) has the SAME warm up routine, and warm down routine..in fact its the same footage...so each workout is truly only about 40+or- minutes of new material. Each DVD is rated at 100 minutes and that includes a series Promo, and lesson Promo...as well as a very good feature called FOUNDATIONS which is a 40 plus (my memory fades it could be longer) session where the instructor and St-Pierre demonstrate the correct form for many of the exercises used in the programs and this is also repeated on every DVD. I think its fine to have these repeats as it makes a single purchase more valuable and doesn't cause me to think I was jipped on the... Read more |
